‘Rcch Prcch!’ My dad swerved sharply to the right, the tire’s crunching over rocks that cracked beneath us. Me and my family were going to my mom’s extraordinary house with millions and millions of fruits. On the way to my mom’s house there’s a very steep hill to the top. It’s so windy when we drive to the top. I feel the fresh air and the scent of tropical fruits enter through my nose.
We finally made it through the curvy hill. My mom’s house is in Kandy in Sri Lanka. Kandy is one of the coldest places in Sri Lanka, even though it’s supposed to be hot here. In her house there are many fruits. The one I like most is Ugeressa. It’s a berry which is so sweet and sour.
Finally we landed at the top of the round hill. My sweet grandma hugged me under her arms. I felt the warmth of her arms. We arrived at my mom’s house at 11pm but we still ate our dinner. These days I still remember my grandmother hugging me tightly and also me munching sweet Ugereesa, it has been a long time since I had been there but I still miss everything.
