The Pah Bah Ceremony to commemorate the end of vassa was held on the 16th of November at the Monastery premises in Paparata.This ceremony intended to  bring together the lay community and Sangha, fostering a sense of harmony and shared purpose in supporting the monastery.

This ceremony is  considered to be an opportunity in the Buddhist tradition to honour the Sangha by offering robes and requisites and sharing merits. The Sangha reciprocates with chanting, blessings and dhamma teachings.

This ceremony  of the 16th started in the morning  with the gathering taking five precepts and offering alms food to monks. The food was offered at a ‘Pindapatha’ following the monasterial tradition. After the  shared meal, the Katina Robe was offered to Mahasanga followed by dhamma  teaching. The ceremony ended with Pirith Chanting and blessings to the laymen gathered.
