Once we Landed in Sri Lanka we went home, settled, unpacked some of our clothes and slept. Our plan was to first visit the Planetarium, National Museum, Kandy, then the Elephant orphanage and lastly Anuradhapura. I will be telling you about one of the places that I explored. I will start with the Planetarium.
The first thing I saw when we walked inside was a big model of the space shuttle that took Neil Armstrong and the other two astronauts to the moon. Me and my parents entered the Planetarium and we saw big models of the solar system and even life sized models of aliens! The Aliens looked very real and I also took a photo with them.
Then we went through these big doors that led to a big building shaped like a dome, which had up to 500 seats inside. My parents and I sat down, ready for the show. The show began! The Show was about the planets, space, the moon and the star signs and also showed us how to spot the different star signs and what planets you can see at different times. I felt like I was in space. The way that they showed the night sky was unbelievable, because the stars were twinkling and it looked just like I was under a real night sky.
I have visited the Wellington planetarium but this was a very different experience and it had more information about space. One day you all should visit the Planetarium in Sri Lanka and get the same exciting experience that I did, and don’t forget to take a photo with the Aliens.
They are conducting this program both in Sinhala and English.
Next time I will be sharing my experience with you about my trip to the National museum!
