In a noteworthy cultural endeavour, the Sri Lankan Dance Academy of New Zealand (SLDA) is set to introduce the rich heritage of traditional Sri Lankan dance and drumming to the local community. The eagerly awaited Term-1 classes are scheduled to commence in January 2024, offering an immersive experience for enthusiasts of all ages at both the Lower Hutt and Tawa branches.

Lower Hutt Branch: A Journey into Tradition begins on January 23rd

The Lower Hutt Branch of SLDA is poised to resonate with the rhythmic beats and graceful movements of traditional Sri Lankan dance starting on Tuesday, January 23rd. Under the tutelage of experienced instructors, participants can anticipate an authentic exploration of Sri Lanka’s cultural expressions through dance and drumming.

Tawa Branch: Rhythmic Revelry from January 27th onwards

Similarly, the Tawa Branch will echo with the vibrant sounds of traditional drumming and the artful dance forms on Saturday, January 27th. Residents of Tawa are invited to embrace this unique opportunity to connect with Sri Lanka’s cultural tapestry right in their community.
