I hope you enjoyed the last letter that I wrote.

This is the continuation of My trip to Sri Lanka. Last time I wrote about my visit to the planetarium. This time I am going to write about my visit to the National Museum. The National Museum had a lot of sections, but these were the ones I was most interested in.

When we got there it was really hot, My Father, Mother and I walked into the museum and started to explore. The first room we walked into was about how humans have developed over the years, I was very interested already. After looking at the 1st level we all walked upstairs to the second level.

One of the rooms on the second level had music instruments that were made in the old days like a conch shell. It was very big and the handle was well made. One of my favourite pieces was a sewing table and a machine. It wasn’t made of metal like the ones we have today. It was made of wood and some bits of clay. Another room held devil masks. I was very scared so I looked down most of the time. Then we walked into this big room that had a big whale. The whale was made out of real whale bones, it was very exciting.

One of the rooms that I was fascinated by was a room that had clothes that people wore in olden days.It was very pretty. My favourite room was a room that had the throne ,crown and jewellery which belonged to the last King and Queen of Sri Lanka. Their names were King Sri Wickrama Rajasingha and Queen Venkata Rangammal Devi. The next room we entered displayed a village made of clay, wood, hay and leaves to look like the old days. Finally, the last room had big crystals and a rotating earth.

Next time when you are visiting Sri Lanka don’t forget to visit the Museum.
