The SLFS year-end gathering was an unforgettable evening of camaraderie, entertainment, and celebration. The night began with a warm welcome speech from our President, setting the tone for an exciting lineup of events. Following this, a graceful welcome dance by Anuradha and her daughter mesmerized the audience, marking a beautiful start to the festivities.
The children’s art competition brought out youthful creativity in three age groups, with crayon boxes and other stationery thoughtfully provided by the society. The competition concluded with winners from each group, earning enthusiastic applause from all present. Meanwhile, Shinie’s delightful face painting station kept the youngest attendees engaged and happy.
The Ladies’ Catwalk event added elegance and flair to the evening, showcasing style and confidence with three deserving winners. For a burst of laughter and energy, the men’s and teenagers’ musical chairs competitions saw participants vying for victory, culminating in two winners from each group.
Buddhika Madushan took center stage, captivating everyone with his live music that filled the air with rhythm and joy. As the clock struck 9 PM, the dinner buffet, arranged by Kuweni Taste, was opened, and dessert was later distributed.
The night continued with the much-anticipated raffle draw followed, thrilling attendees with valuable prizes generously sponsored by our community members such as Tharanga from Visa Care New Zealand Ltd, Ruwan Fernando, Rohitha Karunarathne, Janaki Rankothge, Niroshan from Hamilton Mobile Phones, Dr. Manjula Ratnaweera, Lahiru & Harshani from Bose Barber, and Chandana Weralupitiya.
With music and dance extending late into the evening, the gathering concluded at 12 PM, leaving everyone with cherished memories of an evening that perfectly captured the spirit of SLFS.
